PatientSERV was recently acquired by WELLSTAR, further strengthening our commitment to delivering industry-leading uninsured services solutions in Ontario. As part of this evolution, Doctors Services Group will be transitioning all customers to PatientSERV. 

This FAQ addresses common questions about the transition.

WELLSTAR recently acquired PatientSERV, and as part of this evolution, all Doctors Services Group clients are being moved to the PatientSERV platform. This transition allows you to benefit from more robust tools, expanded integrations, and enhanced reporting—while maintaining the same pricing and service continuity.

PatientSERV is a leading Canadian provider of uninsured services programs for medical practices. They support clinics across Ontario with tools that streamline block fee programs, uninsured billing, payment collection, and patient communication. 

PatientSERV provides several key enhancements: 

  • Expanded dashboards and reporting for deeper insights into uninsured services 
  • Broader EMR integrations, including OSCAR Pro, Accuro, and PS Suite 
  • OMA Preferred Partner status 
  • RPAA-compliant workflows and processes 
  • Same pricing—no cost increases as part of your transition

No. Your services will remain active and uninterrupted throughout the entire migration process. Our teams are coordinating carefully to ensure a seamless transition. 

Yes. All clients will be transitioned to updated PatientSERV agreements. We are aiming to complete all contract transitions by January 31.

To effectively manage Bank of Canada compliance requirements, each clinic is required to enter into agreement with PatientSERV.

  • Confirm your clinic details 
  • Ensure your EMR integration preferences are captured 
  • Prepare your new PatientSERV contract

No. Your current pricing will carry over to PatientSERV. There are also a variety of dynamic pricing options and additional service offerings available that can be discussed during your initial call. 

Patients will continue to receive uninsured services communications and billing support. Over time, you may see improvements such as clearer messaging and enhanced payment options through the PatientSERV platform. We can support you in providing communications to your patients on the change. 

All relevant account data will be securely migrated to PatientSERV. Your clinic’s information, patient history, and uninsured service configurations will be preserved.

We are targeting full client migration and new contract finalization by January 31. Your specific clinic timeline will be confirmed during your transition meeting. 

Yes—positively. PatientSERV provides more detailed dashboards, easier-to-read reporting, and better visibility into uninsured services performance.

No special software is required. PatientSERV is fully web-based and integrates with major EMRs including OSCAR Pro, Accuro, and PS Suite.
